It seems like you’ve barely put the lawn mower away and already there is a chill in the air, leaves on the ground and the Holiday’s are getting closer. If you are hosting a family or neighbourhood dinner this year, here’s a few tips to make things run smoothly and let you enjoy the day with out stressing over it all.
Being prepared is your best defense to ensure your dinner goes off without a hitch. Plan the menu. Plan for a specific amount of people and then add two. Someone may drop out, which doesn’t pose a problem, but if someone asks if they can bring a guest or just shows up with a friend or straggler who had nothing else to do, you want them to feel welcome and not be stuck without enough food. It’s also important to know in advance if people have any food restrictions. It doesn’t hurt to have a vegetarian alternative, just in case.
