2. Pay Attention to What You Eat
Create a good diet for your body and mind. Consider it like making exercises which require some attention and have a similar effect. Usually, depression affects appetite as well as mood. But while one person looses the appetite, another might overeat. When depression comes, you have to be more attentive in order not to swallow cakes or ice-cream, bars of chocolate, etc. You have to stabilize a blood sugar avoiding eating products which include a lot of sugar or made of refined grains and white flour and generally products rich in calories, for example, alcohol. Better would be to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and make getting your meals regular (every 3 hours). Don’t forget about being hydrated all the time. To prevent depression eat sufficient amounts of animal fat, especially, included in fish (salmon, sardines and herring) which is rich in Omega-3s helpful in sustaining a healthy mind and brain’s effective operating. Also, Vitamin B-12 can treat depression, it is in shrimps, crabs, lobsters, etc.
